Improve Test Scores with Differentiated Reading and Writing Instruction

This article is saying how every student has their own learning style. Then there are other students that struggle with reading and writing. Then there are other students that are very advanced in school, so they need to be challenged to stay interested in school. When reading and writing are being taught it needs to be a lesson that a student would enjoy to, so the student can comprehend the material better. It is also taking about a software. The software is called Merit’s software, and it fulfills curricular goals, encourage critical thinking, boost state test scores, and save time.

I thought that the article was very interesting because it tells you how different every child functions. It gives a teacher major an idea of how they should come about dealing with a child, when they go into the teaching field. I also liked how the article talks about how a reading and writing lesson should be a lesson that the children would enjoy, so the students would stay engaged with the lesson and not lose focus.

article #2
Fundraising Tips for Educators
In this article it gives tips on fundraising for a school. Like fro example you should have a goal in mind to have an idea how much money you would need to raise. You should also have a leader and that leader should be the motivator. A person should also consider the time that is spent on this fundraising, and where you would store the materials for this event. Promote the fundraiser to teachers, coach, and PTA a members because they can help by donating anything. When preparing to do this fundraiser you should also have a checklist with the some of the following:
• How much do I need to raise?
• When are you planning on starting your fundraiser?
• How much time are you willing to spend on your fundraiser?
• How many of your students do you estimate will be participating in your fundraiser?
I like how this article gives ideas about how to fundraise for a school. How it also provides the reader with questions to ask yourself when planning a fundraiser. The people that you should involved when doing a fundraiser. I thought it was interesting how they said that there should be a leader that should be the motivator. These are all valuable stuff that a person that is getting into the teaching field should know. This article was very informative.

Online Tutoring Addresses Consumer Demand for Convenience

In the third article that I read it said that when a parent finds out that their child is falling they get the tutoring program. So basically this tutoring program is for students that are advance and their families think that their child is not being challenged so they get them the tutoring program. It also said that research shows that 75% of the parents think that the internet is a good for children to explore and learn. So this article told the reader how involved the parents are in there child’s education.

When I read this article I just thought wow! There is a tutoring program to help the children improve in school. I was shocked because I had never heard of that in my life. So I found it very interesting to hear about this program. I also found it interesting how the parents find the internet to be good for there child to learn, because I thought that it would be a distraction for a child to be on the computer. When a child gets on the computer they are playing games, chatting, going on my space or face book and I think that for a student these are all distractions.

article #4
Fun Science Ideas

A lot of students find science class boring because it requires a lot of memorization of facts and terms. There are a lot of key concepts, so it is important that the students do note cards and get them in the grove. This article is important that parents know so that they can try to make the class fun.

I thought that this article was also very helpful for students that want to become science teachers. This article gives a tip on how the child can memorize the science material that the professor gives. It says that the student should use their note cards to memorize he key concepts and I thought that was essential for a class that the material is tough to learn.

article #5
Improve Writing Skills

This article talks about how students avoid writing, because they are not good at. How some students have difficulties developing their writing and organizing their thoughts. It is not fun to write a paper, because there’s times where you would have to look up information to back up your answer and that is sometimes a challenge. As a result to this they turn out is bad the paper ends up being poorly written. They also wouldn’t know how to express themselves because of their difficulty. In this article it says how there is program that helps children feel more confident about their writing. The program shows them their weakness and strengths and they wouldn’t have any problems starting to write the paper. The program is called Merit Software.

When I read this article I thought this program is great for middle school students, because that’s when students start to really write papers. So once they get to high school they know how to develop their paper and they know how to organize their thoughts. They would know how to edit there paper and they would feel confident about their paper. So I thought that this program would be great for parents to have for their child.
